Dr. Svitlana Zbarska leads ISU Graduate Career Services, develops and coordinates career training and coaching, assesses career outcomes and program evaluation data, and collaborates with other career services units and industry partners.
Dr. Zbarska received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience with Excellence in Research from Iowa State University in 2007. After that, she was a leading scientist on several research projects at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and the Department of Genetics and Cell Biology at ISU. Then for 9 years, Dr. Zbarska led the Undergraduate Research Office Campus-wide and managed programs that promote undergraduate research opportunities across campus: the First-Year Honors Mentor Program, the Undergraduate Research Ambassador Program, the ISU Annual and Summer Symposiums on Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression, the Research in the Capitol, etc.
Dr. Zbarska is originally from Ukraine where she received her BS in Physics and MS in Biophysics with Honors from the Shevchenko National University, Kyiv, Ukraine. She is passionate about encouraging and advocating for graduate students’ career readiness.

- Promote “Beyond the Professoriate” and “Beyond Grad School” Events
